The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
This person will also perform physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise. Duties involve one or more of the following: manually loading or unloading freight cars, trucks or other transporting devices; unpacking, shelving or placing items in proper storage locations; or, transporting goods by hand truck or cart.
Provides daily accounting of inbound and out bound supplies and materials.
Communicates via report for requesting the replenishment of depleted supplies in a timely manner.
Performs physical inventory on a periodic schedule.
Matches physical inventory with documented receivables and disbursements.
Provides reports on any discrepancies found during physical inventory.
Provides storage layout and location of stored supplies and materials.
Properly stores and organizes supplies and materials to facilitate inventory control.
Responds to client/customer inquiries concerning quality and quantity of on-site supplies.
Provides solutions and/or coordinates actions with the Lead Worker/Logistics Support.
Possess the ability to pass a background check. High School diploma or equivalent. Must be detail oriented, computer literate and possess adequate communication skills including the ability to read, write and understand English and basic correspondence. Ability to recognize and sequence numbers and letters. Office/Commercial/Warehouse environment – usually moderately noisy. Lifting/moving 20 to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Other demands include standing, walking, sitting, pulling, lifting, carrying, talking, listening and close vision with ability to adjust focus.
