The Janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, apartment house, or commercial or other establishment. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.

Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.

Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.

Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.

Dusts furniture and equipment.

Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.

Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.

Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

Empties wastebaskets, and cleans ashtrays.

Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Replenishes bathroom supplies.
6 months work experience or HS Diploma/GED. Ability to carry out simple but detailed oral instructions. Ability to communicate with co-workers and work as part of a team; must possess a positive team member attitude. Medium work - lifting 20 - 50 lbs. occasionally, or 10 - 20 lbs. constantly. Other demands include standing, walking, stooping, sitting, pulling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and climbing stairs. EOE. m/f/v/d
